Special Events
We believe history is far from boring — or at least it should be! For that reason, we’ve sprinkled a number of special events across the calendar year to encourage and entice the public’s curiosity about Fort Wayne’s past, present and future. Take note of our online Calendar, and join us for any and all of these fun happenings!
On the last Saturday of June, ARCH hosts a Historic Home and Garden tour that features one of Fort Wayne’s notable neighborhoods or architects. We work with these neighborhoods to plan and provide tour-planning expertise and split the tour’s proceeds so that both organizations can continue and complete historic preservation projects. Tours are strategically designed to be managed in an afternoon and often include a special guest lecture relating to the neighborhood’s key features on the previous evening.
Each year, ARCH invites the adventurous and curious to join a bus tour to a regional archaeological or historic site that is noted for its findings. Trips vary in subject and structure, but all are intended to appeal to all ages and levels of experience and ability. Please call the ARCH office for information and tickets.
Fright Sites Hikes & Haunted Sites Bus Tours:
Just about the time things get a little crisp and creepy in northeast Indiana, ARCH hosts a number of tours designed to make your spine tingle! Through the month of October, our Fright Site Hikes take gullible victims on easy walking tours to some of downtown Fort Wayne’s spookiest haunts. Additionally and in conjunction with “Fright Night,” we invite braves souls to board a bus for any of our Haunted Sites Bus Tours that are just out of walkable reach. All tours require tickets for a nominal charge; young children are welcome with parent or guardian. Please check our online Calendar and call the ARCH office for ticket information.
Holiday Jewels Progressive Tour & Feast:
Each December, we toast to the holidays during a delightful evening with friends and food! This is a progressive feast that typically features stops at three of Fort Wayne’s intriguing architectural gems and tables filled with scrumptious food and libations. Tickets are required, and we encourage evening or holiday attire. Don’t miss it! Call the ARCH office for information and an invitation.

FUN FACT:The NBA was born in Fort Wayne with the merger of the Basketball Association of America (BAA) and the National Basketball League (NBL) in 1949 at the kitchen table of Fort Wayne Pistons owner Fred Zollner.
